Indeed it is a sad drama lar..but compare to this show titled:" sekaii no chushin ai wo sakebu ( crying out love in the centre of the world) ,its more tear jerking drama.

Yes, i also find 'Sekai No Chûshin Ce, Ai O Sakebu' a very depressing drama to watch compared to 1 Liter of Tears(didn't actually feel sad, don't know why).
Maybe it's personal opinion.
