Yes, when u see the doctor say you request a referral to a
specialist.
During the visit the doctor will do some physical examination
and write a short report/findings, after which he/she will put the
letter into an envelope.
If im not wrong you can make payment for the consultation and go
home, the appointment department will call you with regards to your
hospital appointment
If you go through polyclinic you are considered a subsidised
patient.
