Just had my lasik. My experience at SNEC is good, support
staff and equipment is good, but don't get Dr CORDELIA CHAN!!!

She is such an unprofessional doctor, very impatient, abrasive
and rude. You can tell that she doesn't care for her patients at
all, just a "just doing my job" attitude. In the operating theatre,
she was saying very impatiently: "Don't move, we don't want to do
it a lot of times". She doesn't give very clear instructions,
and suddenly during the cutting of the cornea flap, she shouted:
"You moved!!!" then tell the staff impatiently: "She moved!!" quite
a few times. Of course I was shocked and scared, and I asked, "Did
I moved my head or my eyes?" Because sometimes your eyes or
head moved voluntarily. Instead of calming me down, she just
screamed, "Keep still!!" I already very nervous and after her
unhelpful remarks, I was getting castrophobic, and I think I can't
do it already because I feel my heart is beating so fast. I tell
you, the support staff was more calm and patient than her. After
the surgery, she knew I wasn't happy and had the cheek to tell me,
"Oh, it went well." What bullshit! I didn't had the impression that
it went well when she was screaming at me! She should have
calmed me down in the operating room, tell me it is okay to do a
second time, that the cut was not made yet and give me the
assurance, instead of doing it AFTER the surgery!!!
I went back for my post-op consultation, and she didn't even ask
if my eyesight improved or what. Just: "Did you put your eye drops?
I see a lot of dry spots! Ok, see you in a month's time."
I told a friend and realized that we had the
same doctor and she didn't even go for the last consultation
because can't tahan such attitude. We realized that we wanted to do
in a hurry and since she has no business (I guess is
bad reputation), we were assigned to her.
I am going to write a formal complaint letter but
just for audience on the web to know, even
though she may be a Senior Consultant, she is a B****y doctor that
has no basic professionalism in her.
