I guess the funny part is supposed to be how the reporter was
like trying to bring back the mike when the interviewee was still
talking. Then later after he seemed like he was asking some
questions, he brought the mike back to the other person and the
person stayed completely quiet until he brought back the mike to
himself and rambled on.
I understand what the funny part is supposed to be but I still
don't find it very funny though.
