Umm...Actually I dont know, I am not so well versed in this
matters.
But I believe the present laws should not be changed because
human life is very important.
Giving pro-choice is opening the gate of flood, and it will
cause many moral hazards.
Anyway I just hope AWARE will not push pro-choice or pro-same
gender lifestyle campaigns, other things I support AWARE.
Actually speaking there are lots of important issues for women
which I think deserve to be further campaigned and promoted, for
instance what about women participation in public life, politics,
corporate life........Do some studies on whether there are glass
ceilings for women in companies, then what to do about low birth
rates, not enough babies, are women tired after they work all day,
should companies draw a more family-friendly flexible working
hours, should there be more maternity leave, baby rooms, etc, all
these are very important issues, and take some deep cultural
studies issues, like are there socio-cultural and socio-religious
issues which put women as second place and what can be done to
alleviate it, for instance male family line, male name adoption,
some religious teachings, and what to do about it. How to promote
real equality and emancipation socially.
These are all very important and very significant, and I think
concern all women.
Though the S'porean public is generally conservative, the laws
regarding that is pro-choice here, aka parents have the right to
choose between giving birth or aborting(terminating the
pregnancy).
