High tech savvy and spiritual atmosphere exist side by side in
the yamato land though japanese are not really a religous people as
a whole.
Once you stepped out of narita airport you seem to be teleported
to another dimension, a place where nature and mysticism collides
and share.
Japan was colonised before la. After defeat of WWII, American take
over the whole adminstration of Japan and basically ruling over
Japan with their Hiroto emperor as a puppet. It was only in 1954,
American hand back the power back to Japan after they model Japan
into what they want. Huge presence of US troops still remain after
the handover of power.
