Alrighty folks, some details on the Thursday Katong
league.
There are 10 teams participating in this competition, and this
coming Thursday on the 6 January will be week 3 of the league. Team
FOS was originally not participating in this league, but we jumped
in to plug a gap left by a team who pulled out after 1 week.
Ok, the nitty gritty:
It's a 3-leg league of 9 sessions per leg (27 weeks in total)
Average is based on a ((180 - average)/2). Max handicap for males
is 25.

Each team can win up to 30 points each week. That's right.

12 pts -> individual bowler individual game score (w/hdcp) vs
direct opponent
3 pts -> individual bowler overall score (w/hdcp) vs direct
opponent
4 pts -> team individual game score (w/hdcp)
1 pt -> team overall score (w/hdcp)
Interesting twist is the round robin points awarded. Each week, the
team with the highest overall pinfalls (w/hdcp) gets 10 extra pts,
the 2nd highest get 9 extra pts ..... until the lowest pinfalls get
1 miserly extra pt.
At least this way ... even if any team gets walloped 0-20 .... the
minimum they can still obtain is 1 pt! Hee hee hee...
However, this means that NO HANDICAP TARIK-ING is allowed please.
Every pinfall would count as it can mean another round robin point.
Then again, I don't think we actually tarik handicap in the first
place......

Trophy fund is $240 (That makes it 24 per pax since there's 10 of
us in total)
I've already collected trophy funds from about 1/2 of you, I'll
collect the rest from you (you know who u are, heh heh) when I see
you in league or bowling sessions...
We completed our roll off for the first two weeks yesterday
afternoon.

The bowlers representing week 2:
WX, Hayden & Joo Hian
The bowlers will be the first to agree that we didn't exactly cover
ourselves with glory yesterday, but it's good to get used to the
lanes so we would be more prepared in future matches. Will update
once we have any news on league standings.
For this week's lineup (6th Jan):
Swee Kia, David, Kevin Phua - tentatively
For next week's lineup (13th Jan):
Daryl, Jae, Hayden - tentatively only - must see league schedule
