How I lost $250,000 to gambling

Lyndsey Baigent emptied her savings, drew against her mortgage and
stole money from her father to feed a gambling addiction that cost
her $250,000 over five years.
Somehow the Brisbane mother managed to keep up the ruse of leading
a normal life, but beneath the surface lay a destructive lifestyle
that almost cost her everything.
She drank a couple of bottles of wine a day and was a "chimney"
when it came to cigarettes, but she hid her addictions from her
family until she reached breaking point.
Sitting on her patio one day, Ms Baigent held in her hand what
seemed like the only solution to a seemingly hopeless situation - a
box of pills.
