Israel Attacks Gaza, Kills Four Palestinians
21/6/2007 2:37:28 AM Israeli forces raided Gaza from air and
through land on Wednesday, killing four Palestinians. The firing of
missiles and surge of tanks is the deadliest military action since
Hamas militants took control of the coastal strip.
Israeli aircraft fired missiles at two rocket launchers in northern
Gaza in retaliation for militant rocket fire on Israel. Four Hamas
militants were killed in a gun battle when the Israeli tanks rolled
about 600 yards inside southern Gaza before daytime.
Two Palestinian militants were killed in the West Bank in a predawn
shootout with Israeli troops.
Meanwhile, a UN agency has warned that there is a possibility of
food scarcity in Gaza within weeks if the main cargo crossing with
Israel was not reopened.
