Internet connection settings affecting my surfing. Help plea

I've recently changed my internet to Singtel optic fibre 100mbps plan. Since there I'm not able to access a few sites like safra.sg or my school's website. I called in and the problem was solved after adding a proxy server in my connection settings. Since then, my laptop has been unable to connect to other sources of wifi, either in my friend's house or the school when everybody else's is working fine. I've tried offing the proxy server when I'm out but still could not connect to anything except for my house's wifi. Any solutions?

Also with the current settings of my connection settings, my tablet is not able to view my school's lecture recording. It's just stuck at the loading page. But when I tether to my phone's data connection, the lecture recording load at ease. Any configurations I can change for my house's wifi to solve that as well?

I'm not sure on the clarity of the problem...

Firstly it is not clear to me but are u using the new fibre plan, then from your house connect it to a wireless router? And then use ur tablet (or was it PC) (connected to WIFI) to access safra.sg?

Whether on using proxy or not should not affect the ability to connect to different wifi source... It follows the logic below:

Tablet ==> WIFI ==> Proxy address (if any) ==> website

Proxy can affect on whether are you able to view website or not, but it should not affect your connectivity.

Yep I'm using the new Singtel fibre plan.

1) All connected to my house's optic fibre wifi connected with the wireless router singtel provided.

Tablet and laptop both connected and can't access some sites like safra.sg

2) All connected to my house's optic fibre wifi with my laptop's LAN setting set with proxy server.

Tablet and laptop both connected. Can access sites which I can't initially but tablet can't access my school's lecture recording

3) Tablet connected to my phone's data connection or any other wifi network other than my home's

Can access everything normally

4) Laptop connected to my phone's data connection or any other wifi network other than my home's (with the same singtel proxy address set in the LAN settings)

Cannot access internet at all.
