I'm getting a new laptop for normal purposes as well as gaming.
Does anyone know how i should go about getting one? I'm want to
play smoothly on dota as well as on majority of the other games.
Here is what i found in a forum.
DotA
requirements:
Minimum - the game will work,
but you'll experience spikes, lags and fps drops (slow downs).
Average - for normal gaming,
without any significant problems.
Full Perfomance - for all
details set at maximum, perfect hosting, full framerate!
Basically, i'm hoping to play games smoothly and don't mind
upgrades to have a laptop with greater performance as long as its
within my budget. My budget would be <$2000. What specs should i
get? After identifying the specs, what do i do? I don't plan to
customize it as its too troublesome and i'm clueless. Any
recommendations for laptops to get, shops to go to without getting
fleeced? Its my first time buying a laptop and I'm not really pro
in the area, so please bear with me ^^. Thx in advance,
appreciate it C:
How big do you want the screen to be?
If you don't mind an 11" screen, the Alienware M11x is the one
to get. Beefy GPU to go with it.
If you need something bigger, have a look into the Acer
TimelineX series, like the 4820TG/5820TG. Go for those packing a
Mobility HD5650 for optimal performance.
If you want something a little bit more beefy, take a look at
these units:

A bit on the large side, but they will squash every notebook out
there under $2k.
Did I say squash? I meant trample.
