CPU making beeping sound?

My Acer aspire 1700 CPU recently,upon switching on will give out beeping sound,and will not stop till i switch off and the computer will not start. But after a while or so,when i switch on again it work.

May i ask anyone have any idea on this matter or how to solve it?

Could be ram problems

Take out your ram, use an eraser to rub the contact point, clean the ram slot with brush or vacuumm

Besure to clean off any eraser dust before putting in ur ram

Try starting again

If you have more than one piece or ram, start your pc with one piece first, then exchange with another piece.

so i should just open out my cpu casing and do the cleaning?

Is the warranty over for your CPU? I think it should be, cos the 1700 is a pentium 4 computer?

If yes then you can just open up the cpu, then take out the ram, clean it and put it back in.

Best is to put the same ram back in the same slots respectivly
