HDMI Cable?

Hi guys, I have a HD ready TV and i wanna watch movies from my computer to the TV. May I know if it will work if I just connect a HDMI cable to the TV? Does connecting the cable means both the sound and video will work on the TV?

Also, would I need the newest version of 1.4 or just any which I pick up from challenger will do?

Very new to HD stuff so thanks in advance!

HDMI is for both.

any will do. as long as ur lappy has a HDMI port will do.it will give u video and sound not like old ports. which u had to buy 2 cables

oh yah.. if you have a mac, the HDMI doesn't give you sound

HDMI from your graphic card only output video to your TV.

You will need to have another audio cable from your sound card output to your TV audio input if you want the sound from your computer to project out from your TV.

The sound card output you mentioned is the earphone jack?

Yes...your sound card output is the earphone jack, and you need to check what kind of input you have for your TV.

Then go and buy the cable that has both inputs.
