Currently studying in SP doing my FYP. The scope is to explore
methods for storing alternative energy produced via piezoelectric
devices/materials like Polyvinylidene flouride or hooking up LOTS
of ignitors (not enough..try le..)
We intend to cover an area of 18 square feet with the devices at
the entrance of SP (from MRT) to harvest energy from high volume
of ppl coming in and out of school. If success, we will
upscale to other areas like foodcourt(s) or library..
We understand that piezoelectric materials are able to generate
high levels
of voltage but are severely lacking in terms of
power.. one piezoelectric disc can
power an LED for a split second on touch.. about 0.06mW i
think..
Would be GREAT if anyone with information or lobangs with
NUS/NTU profs can set us up for consultation or perhaps
provide some suppliers contacts so we can get some advice... Thanks
LOTS!
U can try contacting NTU's School of EEE and see if they can
help U...
