thanks to those who were there to support us, Very Happy [email protected], forumites from This, but not Ding though, Shocked with his irritating 'beer frame, beer frame....' Mr. Green

we could have done much better, except for the last game, where we experienced a sudden slack...
think Tom aka Remy aka Player1 had a great outing though. keep up the good work!
as for Ian, Adrian and myself, let's give ourselves a pat on our back! Very Happy

Player1 SG

how to calculate handicap wan?
can anyone tell me how mine works?
i got 151, 157 and 180...how to get handicap 17?
anyway, first time i see my handicap so low.
HAHA....

yeah, thanks to all those who supported us. Anyway, still got much more to do. Thanks to Mage for asking me to try the "flick wrist" thingy...didn't know whether i do it correctly, and its not consistent... but i did get more snap at the back. In fun bowling though..with 221 to show for my efforts. HEEEEEEE.....

clown SG

I thought he should get about 19 handicap??

I thought the calculation is (200-average) / 2

Just my thought if the base is 200.

And for ladies its (200-average) x 2/3

Always thought that is the standard. Unless otherwise specified by the league. See the notice board for more details.

airgrinder SG

hehehe......
for raw scores below 160, your handicap is calculate using a 160! meaning, ur score is upped to 160 for calculating of handicap purposes only.

Hence score1+score2+score3 =a

200-(a/3) = b

handicap = b/2

point to note: example 3.5 is round off to 3! not 4!!
Cool

Player1 SG

so its [200 - {(160+160+187)/3}]/2 ?

so for eg. if i play the next session???
lets assume i hit 150, 150, 180 for the next session...
how liao??still 200 - total scores/6 this time?

Player1 SG

wah lan, i also realised our team got $4 worth of fines.
hahah....

Ian SG

wahahahaha anchor got highest handicap!

sob...

airgrinder SG

*taping fingers on the thumb*

I predict that the ranking of both THIS and THAT team are now in the top 7 out of 18 positions. heh heh

To make the league more exciting, anyone wanna do opponents' strengths and weakness analysis? Do a metaphor for the winning? Cool

P.S.: quite boliaos 2day...hehe

prataman SG

The formula is (200 - (total upgraded total/total games played))/2.

That is correct. Your scratch scores of 151, 157 and 180 are upgraded to 160, 160 and 180.

160 + 160 + 180 = 500.
So handicap is (200 - (500/3))/2 =16.67 which rounds up to 17.

Let's say if you hit scratch 186, 142 and 171 for your next session. Your upgraded scores to use for handicap would be 186, 160 and 171.

186 + 160 + 171 = 517 (upgraded total session 2)

Now, your total number of games played is 6, and your total upgraded pinfall would be:

500 (session 1) + 517 (session 2) = 1017.

Your new handicap would be (200-(1017/6)) = 15.25 rounded to 15.

Can catch ball?

prataman SG

Anyway, every few weeks or so I'll post current averages and handicaps, for THIS, for THAT....

And also all 22 of us as a whole. Now wouldn't it be an interesting chart to see? Wink

Player1 SG

so, every week must hit 500 series lor at least...
ahh, actually...should be no problem lah.
but if can get high handicap and still beat opponent, that's more ideal rite?
so how should i go about deciding that?
just bowl to win my opponent oni issit?

harmzuay SG

but if can get high handicap and still beat opponent, that's more ideal rite?

P1, if you can do that, you'll be the best sandbagger on the planet. Yeah, that's the best option, of course. You provide 4 points for the team week in and week out, plus you keep your average low enough to qualify for the monthly tourneys. Let's see just how you manage that.

Player1 SG

your signature can apply to the theory here ley, harmie...
hahaha....

well, i wont be playing until week 3, except for this sunday's challenge.

i'll try on week3 then. Mr. Green just dont give me sam goh...

prataman SG

Gonna need quite a bit of help from the opponent if you want to win 4 points every week averaging about 160-170. Wink

Player1 SG

i was trying it again today.
however, backend wasn't that snappy anymore (i didn't cup my wrist throughout). abit more predictable, less hook but more speed.
i used to cup my wrist throughout then break alittle before flicking it up again.

now i dun cup wrist, but never break also, then at the bottom of downswing, flick it up...but couldn't really get the hang of it.

Accuracy not there also....sighz.

Must keep trying!!! Neutral

Don't think Rollstrike will be pushovers so have to perform a much better job than last week.
Good luck fellas, and lets get them darn points!
I wont be down to watch because my next paper is on Tuesday so happy playing! Mr. Green

harmzuay SG

Rollstrike took what, 15 points, off This Team. They are strong then.

Next week looks tough.

Jae

Does that mean you don't need me to rush back to fitness?? I don't think i'll be far off by monday. Just no soccer for a long time.

Twisted Evil

jae SG

Harmzuay, u'll be back-up along with Ian.
