can i use wireless router for my 2mbps internet speed?

i jus sign up internet wit starhub..my internet speed is 2mbps n using the motorola modem given..i speedtest my internet n it shows
download speed 2741kbps and upload speed 224kbp...i wan to use wireless router..do u think can?..hw many laptop can reach?

of coz can. Practically speaking, depending on your router, I think about a dozen concurrent connections should be ok but remember, the bandwidth is shared so if there are too many users, your internet will be crawling.

sometimes 1 pc and 3 laptops are logged on at the same time
most of the time is 2 machies

works fine if u are not the super impatient type
and avoid peak hours if u are watching streaming vids

Wireless router, can. How many concurrent connections, depends on what you want to use it for. For transferring files on the intranet, sure, that's fine. For watching movies, a 2MBPS plan is usually fine for up to 3 connections simultaneously. Anything more than that and everyone will lag.

i used to shared more then 20 users over a 512 kbps adsl. so it really depends how much bandwidth each user is using.
