is Gateway a good brand? or is it a new brand?? cause like i see last few years, they dont sell gateway notebooks.

anyway between HP, LG and gateway, in terms of netbook which is the best ?

Gateway bought over by Acer.

My preference is towards HP, Asus and MSI.

Gateway notebooks have a better build quality than their Acer counterparts, from what I feel. HP/Compaq laptops tend to overheat quickly, and LG gets pretty hot at times. I'd suggest MSI, Asus. Gateway/Acer laptops are reliable and cheap, build quality is decent enough, but this is from my own experience.

There's no more Gateway... the best you can get is Acer. But Acer quality is no longer up to standard (as it used to be).

HP/Compaq do indeed get quite hot at times, but last well enough (with good ventilation).
