Monitor affects game performance?

Prophecy_Master SG

Hi all

i got a question, does the size of the monitor affects the game performance ?

for example

i got a 19 inch monitor, it is the square shape kind, and i run a game in 1280x1024

using the same system, i change my monitor to a 23 inch wide screen and run the game in 1920 x 1080 .

assuming that graphic cards are not a issue, just based on the monitor

Which is more draining for the system to run ?

or there is no differences in perofrmance ?

I am not sure in this situation

In theory there should be no difference in performance.

But some people says that the the monitor with 2ms performance and those with 5ms performance will make it look like there is a difference.

The reason is like the monitor with 5ms performance is 3ms slower than then one with 2ms performance. To me it is not really noticable, maybe to others they can feel or even see it

But if really lag, it should be the graphics card liao, running with AA at high resolution with little video ram will cause some lags here and there

The siz isn't a matter. Its the resolution.

The higher the resolution when playing games, the more draining it is on the components like the Graphics card, which has to work harder to process such images.

But if you're trying to say which monitor is harder for the computer to power, then it's neutral with no difference. Kinda ambiguous question.

yaya !! sorry i mean the resolution.

playing a game with a resolution of 1280x1024 is less demanding compared to playing a game with a resolution of 1920x1080.

Well, yes. More pixels for the GPU to calculate = more stress on the GPU.

Actually it can be a yes, your monitor might affect performance indirectly. The bigger your monitor, the bigger your resolution have to be to get the optimum clarity and the bigger your resolution, the more stress on the GPU.

Ussually a 17" LCD needs a minimum of 1024x768 resolution for optimum clarity.

If you have 22" LCD and run at 1024x768, the clarity will be poor.

All this are subjective though. If you don't mind clarity, you can play at lower resolution to trade of clarity with speed.
