Regarding DNS

i got my laptop and router today, installed everything and it seems ok for the start

then after awhile, my desktop started to act weird, when my laptop got connected to the

internet, my desktop cants seems to work anymore. the desktop is connected to the

internet but i cant seems to browse the internet.

when i troubleshoot at msn, it says something is wrong with the DNS.

router brand is ZyXEL, did the config and everything. nothing wrong at all

anyone know how?

i get this problem also but it occurs like randomly.. after awhile, i can access my internet but sometimes, it just got disconnected to the internet.. and i also wonder why..

i cant sovle it permanently.. mine are short term solutions.. like restarting my laptop, restart my router, or i simply wait for about 30 mins then keep refreshing my connection to the router..

mine no leh, mine is cant brose e internet on desktop always de, damn irritating.

i called starhub, they say not their prob, is my router's -.-

but my desktop is connected to internet, only fault is with the DNS thing

for my problem, my laptop says im connected to my wireless router also but im not connected to internet. when i trbleshoot, it says DNS problem also.

DNS problem is a "generic" problem. The system tries to connect to the DNS server and when that fails, it will give an error message: "Cannot connot to DNS"

The error message "Cannot connot to DNS" means "Cannot connect to the Internet"

It is the same.

What good is the message? It tells you that the system can connect to the router.

Just to confirm, your connections are: PC and Laptop > router > modem >Starhub?
