High ping encounter

Hi there, hope someone could help me out here. Using MOL 2000kbps cable modem for internet use on 1 home computer. Use Bitcomet to download anime and movies but d/l speed is terrible (<20KB/s instead of 200KB/s). Torrent is 4seeds/160peers. Stumble onto this website

and follwed steps 1-6. On step 7, encounter high ping 230,195,218 ms or sometimes it says request timed out. Will this affect my downlaod from Bitcomet? If so, how to solve it or do I check with starhub on this?

My settings - No port forward as using modem only, patch set to 50, upload speed set to 22 KB/s (75%), allowed acsess through Kerio firewall, port opened. Thanks for any help.

Not problem with modem. Problem with torrent. 4seeds and 160 peers. Seed to peer ratio should not be 1:40. Should be at most 1:5. Anyway, dont check with Starhub. What you are doin is illegal,and prosecution may be done.
