This happened just a few weeks ago, I get the blue screen of
death with the error message: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL whenever I
connect my external harddisk to my laptop (Windows XP sp3). The
computer automatically reboots after that but I have to quickly
pluck out the USB cable since my computer refuses to boot with my
external harddisk connected to it.
It only happens with my external harddisk; no problems with my
thumbdrive. However my external harddisk is fully functioning and
doesn't cause any problems when I connect it to another
computer.
How do I fix this? Is reformatting the only way out?
