Just a few things i need to clarify.
My current modem is those cable connected ones and now i want to
change it to a wireless connection.
Do i need to change to a wireless modem or a wireless router
will do? I can just get a wireless router then connect my old modem
to it right? And are there any compatibility issues?

no problem. just get a wireless router and use the ethernet
cable to connect to the router in order to get connection from the
router.
