help with wireless

hello. i'm having a problem with my wireless. ive recently installed a router and wireless adapter. the adapter can connect to the router but then cannot connect to the internet. they say there is limited or no connectivity and there's no default gateway.

i tried connecting to the router using my phone and it works, can go online.adapter to other people's network also work. but then my own router and adapter cannot work.

any idea what kind of problem this is?

Your phone to your router via wifi (able to work)

your phone to other connections via wifi (able to work)

Please clarify your Internet service provider (i presume it's starhub)

what brand of router and adaptor are U using?

U sure the wireless password for the adaptor is correct?U might want to try retyping it in again.

Can you please furnish more details on your setup? Saying I connected my router to my phone and it works doesn't make sense because you don't do that. Please also include the steps you have taken along with the equipment you are using.

yeap. phone to all wireless via wifi works. yeap. starhub

i'm using SMC networks Barricade N.

the password should be correct cos i can use it to connect to other networks?

ok sry about that. i followed the instructions maunal that came tgt with the pack.

for the router: connect router to modem. den connect router to pc. restarted pc and accessed the router settings using IE. used the setup wizard. restarted com.

for adapter: inserted cd. installed drivers until prompted to plug in the adapter. finished.

i tried setting a wireless network with another set of router and adapter before and the same problem occurred also.

I presume that the desktop connecting the router works perfectly, and it has drivers and software of the router installed.

I too, assume that you encounter problems adding another PC to your wireless adaptor.

Access the Router configuration software.

Either Disable the Mac or enable it.

We shall try disabling it first.

hmm. it was initially disenabled.

after enabling it's still the same..

seems to me like a configuration issue. try connect via LAN cable to configure the wireless part properly.
