microsoft has already identified this problem.
basically in order for it to work on vista, your system
administrator has to install a patch to the mail server.
but i'm not sure if there are any other ways.
My IT support today replied me with this email ... sigh (note: I
already told them that I cannot find XP to install):
We are in the midst of finding a workaround solution. We hope to
solve this problem permanently in next 3 to 6
months.
Please note that we do not support Windows Vista currently, as
there are many incompatibility issues and other related problems.
It requires certain amount of resources to test and ensure that our
mail server continue to function as per normal after upgrading our
system to support Vista. We cannot afford the downtime, affecting
everyone just because of Vista. Win XP is the only client software
that we support currently. Please understand that apart from the
standard official software used in our company, any other software
is not our priority.
Suggest you can downgrade your current Vista to XP to access your
mail. Alternatively, find another win XP machine. For your kind
understanding, please. Tks.
