Show hidden files and folders, then navigate here to find your
profile folder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder
In the Profile folder, you will find a folder named
bookmarkbackups. Recover your bookmarks from there. The numbers are
actually the date. If you have bookmarked any sites before you lost
your bookmarks, you will lose these sites. All old bookmarks
made before you lost your bookmarks are recoverable.
Copy out the bookmarks and save them somewhere. They will save
your life later.
Next...
Close Firefox.
Go to Start > Run and type in firefox -p
Follow the instructions to create a new profile.
After creating a new profile, import the bookmarks back to
Firefox (Open Firefox, click on Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks
> File > Import)
