it happens almost whenever Window Live Messenger is opened. Sometimes the computer auto-restarts too. Yesterday I also had this system shutdown thing..telling me I got 1 minute to save my work before it auto-restarted..something like NT Authority error code: 1073741819..I checked on the web and they said it's a worm?..tried to scan my computer but then it auto-restarted before it could complete so I don't know liao

Reinstall or repair DirectX.

Auto Shutdown within 1 min means that the LSASS.exe process was terminated.Better scan ur PC with an antivirus as your computer might be infected with the Sasser worm.

And this brings us to the question, what's your OS? What service pack has been installed? As far as XP SP2 and 2000 SP4 is concerned, this shouldn't be a problem unless something crashed it.
