err ... you see if u can eject the DVD Rom
if the DVD Drive tray pops out , Check BIOS of laptop to see if it
detected the DVD Rom
If its detected , change boot setting and insert a bootable cd (
like vista or XP or ur recovery CD ) then u insert the CD n restart
the comp
It should boot into the recovery / XP / vista dvd
Try to hear the noise by the drive , if it does not boot in to the
dvd , check if your laptop has a booting key n then boot to the dvd
rom , if it doesnt read still , then ur DVD rom is spoilt
Send your laptop back to acer , or whatever brand is your laptop
and ask them to change the DVD Drive
After Changing and the DVD Rom still doesn't show in windows , your
windows may have some restrictions or so that prevent you from
using ur DVD Rom
