LatecomerX SG for a friend of mine. She says "no budget set", so I assume she wants the most bang for the buck one. Any recommendation?
Rockhound SG XPS 1530... slim and light and giving 15inch screen size i'll always stick to souped up Lenovo Thinkpad ultraportables hehehe
LatecomerX SG Dell custom builds most bang for the buck meh? I thought Dell is rather bang and say bye to your buck de?
ndmmxiaomayi SG Unfortunately, no. Seriously, what does she need it for? Art work? Just normal surfing? How long she intend to keep this? Or upgrade every few years?
TehJarVu SG mai tu liao get an ibm T61 http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/na/LenovoPortal/en_US/special-offers.workflow:ShowPromo?LandingPage=/All/US/Sitelets/ThinkPad-T-Series/tech-specs
ndmmxiaomayi SG The Thinkpad looks nice. Got IBM logo boh? Boh logo, prepare for it to last as long as Acer.
Rockhound SG my x60 thinkpad logo..no ibm logo dropped it down a flight of stairs before slipped of my fingers.. spilt milo on it did wireless test in the rain before it still keeps on ticking so sad gonna give it away end of this month...... but gonna get a T series after that...muahahahahhaha
LatecomerX SG General usage with moderate gaming and for schoolwork in JC. Mostly used at home, so portability is not much of an issue. She missed the second question, I guess. Anyway, based on the first answer, what do you think she should get for herself?
ndmmxiaomayi SG Ultimate. LOL Acer is able to stand those test... but after the warranty dies... you will know... sigh.
Rockhound SG imo vista arh inevitable anywaes so its good to have knowledge on vista and yes... 3gb ram pleaese
Phaze SG You must be joking. I have owned 4 Acers. Great value for money but durability? Not so much. Plastic is cheap and flimsy. Palmrest tends to sag. Plastic around hinges tends to break.

ndmmxiaomayi SG LOL... Maybe for mine ba... One wonders what I do to my Acer. Anyway, this doesn't hold true for new Acer... please don't do it to them...
