MohamedF SG I getting headache... I set top as master and btm as slave for my ide hitachi HDD... but can't detect the slave HDD... I put the master at the end of the 40pin cable and the slave at the middle of the cable... I also have a CD rom and a DVD rom... anything I missed out...
alwaysdisturbed SG have you gone into BIOS to check if your BIOS detected it? if yes, have you gone into computer management and format it?
LatecomerX SG You can't. Abraham Lincoln has banned slaves. It may be that the disk is unformatted. Check under Control Panel > Computer Management and see if there is an unformatted volume. Edit: I didn't see the post above mine. Paiseh.
ndmmxiaomayi SG What model is your Hitachi Hard Disk? Somehow, it looks wrong to me. http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/dk/2/2jumpb.html
MohamedF SG Thanks guys... I checked device management and computer management and it says it detects the new hard disc... so now I'm here... what should I do now?
maurizio13 SG Select the drive and right click your mouse. If it's a new drive (with no data), you need to partition the drive and format it. If the drive already has data in it, then just add it.
ndmmxiaomayi SG Looks correct. Open My Computer. Right click and select Refresh. Can you see it? If no, restart your computer.
LatecomerX SG You have not given the volume a drive letter. There should be an option for that if you right-click that green thing.
