Graphics card and internet connection

whereismyrib SG

Maxonline. On average, how long does it take to download 10 MB files?

whereismyrib SG

What is the minimum graphics card memory to run 3D games?

hmm... I think I may have solved the problem. I suspect my second hard disk to be faulty so it may have caused the poor performance of the whole system, including downloading.. Once the second hard disk is out, it appeard to be ok now. Smile

XP? At least 128MB.

A faulty hard disk shouldn't affect the download speed, but system performance may be affected. Are you saving a lot of things to that hard disk?

whereismyrib SG

Yup XP.

I don't know. the download speed seems to be faster. On average, how fast should the download speed be, for starhub cable?

LatecomerX SG

Depends. They have four price plans available, each differs in its download speed. So which one are you on? Also, take note that your connection may become slow during peak hours if most people living around you happen to be Hubbers (or Hubbys Laughing ).

Let me just add on that the 1Mbps maximum speed you can get is only within Singapore, meaning if you try downloading something overseas, it will depend on the overseas server.

Means if you try downloading MapleStory, you should be able to reach 1Mbps provided they dont trottle your download.

But if you download something from the US, i cant gurantee the speed.

If you want a gauge of speeds, go http://www.speedtest.net/ and have a check.
