I don't want TS to reformat because I think it's doable... Registry is Windows... if it dies, Windows dies too...
ndmmxiaomayi SG Because it's not set by default in Windows... my Windows is a highly tweak version... Don't believe, try accessing the Group Policy (gpedit.msc) There, follow the steps to tweak it, restart computer. Open Registry Editor, you should see the string NoRecentDocsMenu there.

ndmmxiaomayi SG You will have if somebody knows how to tweak the registry properly. I won't tweak a value that I don't know how. If it crashes your system, I will bang my head.
OasisBlue SG I've found a solution to it finally. * Open the registry editor * Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced * Set the value of Start_ShowRecentDocs to one of the following values: Value of 0 - List my most recently opened documents is disabled Value of 2 - List my most recently opened documents is enabled Hope this comes in handy for anyone who wants to display recent documents as well
