ndmmxiaomayi SG

Almost all Jap brands laptops are light.

Sony, Fujitsu, Pansonic, NEC.

LG ones are quite light.

elspeth SG

any recommended popular models? carbon firbre body?

Rockhound SG

It depends on what u want

ultramobile pc?

Rockhound SG

try to concentrate on needs than on wants

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Somehow, I feel that you are asking for the near impossible.

elindra SG

SpeedStar SG

is Fujitsu laptop made in japan?

Rockhound SG

widely advertised...but sadly no..lol...they would say otherwise...

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Apparently, so. But when you see the rate of their laptops spoiling, you will think if it is. It's a Japan brand though.

Thomas300 SG

Using fujitsu now. The one i'm using is 3 years old liao. But after 3 year warranty finish the keyboard and speaker spoil. nb. Sad Then got 1 usb port siao siao de cannot detect my mouse but can detect external storage.. If got money to change i will wanna try asus. Razz

Sony have a new VAIO laptop which is lightweight but I don't think they are suitable for gaming. High price tag also.
Toshiba also have very lightweight laptops (~1.1kg).

ndmmxiaomayi SG

But Toshiba got heat problems…

Rockhound SG

honestly...get ureself a Dell XPS M1330 at 2499 bucks from the dell website

It isnt actually where the laptop is made of...its how u actually use and take care of it...

don't be too blinded by lighter is better..

the MPS is 1.79 kg

has the latest Intel Santa Rosa Processor so gives u very good processing power and low power consumption

CNET Review

don't be too blinded with Vaio or Toshiba or Fujitsu...

i vouch this system with my life...

Vista isnt actually a bad OS too...its inevitable that everyone would soon use it

try not to buy a system with a separate Optical Drive..try to have everything integrated

dbowie SG

I didn't know that. But I am sure ACER takes the throne of overheating laptops.

Rockhound SG

the current profile and gem travelmate and aspire models have sort of fixed this overheating issues with better layout of its parts....

every laptop heats up depending on usage uh...

my x60 output vent at times mildly burn my fingers when i put them there...

heat is something u cant escape from a laptop...

it also depends on where u put it on...as laptop intake vent is at the base....slightly elevate the laptop's upper part and it wont generate too much heat

Rockhound SG

Toshiba has serious issues.....lol

i've always gotten Lenovos for my organisation's usage..and vouch by them too...

the current Acers arent too bad....especially the Aspire 5920 and Travelmate 6292

the 5920 has superior graphics performance for a laptop of its cheap price

while the 6292 is a good contender for the Lenovo X60 and X61...although missing out by a slight bit

My ACER can go up to 90 degrees celcius. God damn it. I am not supporting an Acer anymore.
