Xcert SG haha...I also used it when I was doing my PHP programming...now using Notepad++ cos doing more on C++/ASP/Java.. I also would recommend it.
Parka SG Most PHP books have several chapters on mysql too. At the end you'll definitely be able to create something like sgforums, if you have the time
Xcert SG ur xAMP should have come with a set of mySQL installed when U installed the xAMP.... U just need to go to Start->All Programs->mySQL and find mySQL Command Line Client and see if U can get the mysql> prompt...if U cannot...then it may be xAMP neber setup for U...U can go mySQL Server Instance Config wizard and set it up urself... if instance running and U still cannot get ur mysql prompt...then it could be user privilege issue. since U are using xAMP...I dont think U will meet connector incompatibility issues. if U are talking about mySQL commands...just google it...TONS of info on it.
ndmmxiaomayi SG Use PHPMyAdmin to create database. Linky is at the left. Start XAMPP, point to localhost, click on the PHPMyAdmin link.
