No new functions, other than looking nicer.

One thing though, it moves the "bla bla bla is writing a message" from the bottom to the chat area.

See the screenshot.

shall i use the new live.com or stay with my hotmail Neutral

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Stay with Hotmail. New one sucks.

Dead_Man_Inc SG

mayi, advisable to download the new windows live messenger?

ndmmxiaomayi SG

It’s up to you. Comparing the new one with old ones, I prefer the new one. Connections are much faster and stable and it doesn’t lag badly as the older versions. And it crashes less often.

leehexin SG

y the @live suck? i think its better cos it shorter to type … and it use windows live hotmail which i think load faster than other email provider eg yahoo, gmail

Web 2.0 isn't mature. Frankly, a lot of websites that jump on to the Web 2.0 bandwagon are facing lots of problems. It's very laggy to the extent it kills some PC.

Live Hotmail is slow, same goes for Yahoo! new mail interface.

Gmail will face the same problem sooner or later.

casshern SG

i using this package with Live Mail, messenger and photo album.

so far i'm pretty impressed with Mail as i can read both my singnet and hotmail together.

Messenger wise its pretty much eye candy.

havent use the photo album yet. will go explore it later tonite

Use Thunderbird to access Gmail through POP. Simple and fast, at least until the day Thunderbird becomes bloated enough.

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Yup, I use that. If Thunderbird gets bloated... there are other clients as well... but haven't found a nice one yet.

x2. I'm thinking of moving into the built-in mail client in Opera, but like someone else has said, it's like ordering a steak in McDonald's.

ndmmxiaomayi SG

LOL, I never like Opera built-in mail client. It's kind of hard to use, like Netscape or Maxthon built-in mail clients.

I give up configuring them... I prefer a client than one built into browser...
