recovery problem, help T_T

i want to reformat my computer. tried using the HP PC System Recovery but to no avail. my computer will restart, and this error pops out.

"file\minint\system32\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. the error code is 14. setup cannot continue. press any key to exit."

any idea how to solve it?

That is not a Windows file as far as I know.

Do you have a Windows CD? You should probably try booting into the Recovery Console and running chkdsk or scandsk.

Alternatively, if you have another PC you can move the HDD to the other PC and check the disk.

Think your ntkrnlmp.exe file is corrupted or non-existent.

Recovery disk is pretty much useless if you have done updates to your Windows OS. The files in your recovery disk is different from the updated version of the files in your OS.

You need the installation CD or DVD.
