Logically yes. Because there’s no virtual memory on other partitions except the drive where Windows is installed on, unless you create one.

sometimes my com lags like some crap. when playing hellgate london demo, it sometimes lags like crazy. then when i exit the demo, windows explorer is not responding and it LAGS!!!! even though cpu meter shows 10% CPU usage and 30% RAM usage. -.-

it sometimes shows windows has detected your computer's performance is low when playing football manager 2008

why? i'm pretty sure there's no virus, but my 3 hdd's are almost filled up. could that be the cause? i have around 30% free space on C, 5% on D, 1.4% on D.

You do really need to plan your hard disk usage.

Another thing could be your power supply. Put in a 450W one instead.

Sometimes computers are just weird... some when not enough power will automatically slow down, others will go poof! Shutting down... it all depends on the processor itself.

30% of free space on C should have enough to be used as virtual memory… unless the settings are changed to utilize more than 30% of the disk space or Windows is not installed on C drive (which my answer is based on).

Yes, it's bad. Windows needs at least 20% free space to function properly. Anything lesser, the computer will slow down.

As for changing... I won't say for now. You really need to plan your storage uses.

1. Please use a temporary file cleaner to clear out all your temporary files. (CCleaner or ATF Cleaner)

2. Look through your Add/Remove Programs for unnecessary programs or programs that you hardly use and uninstall them. For those that can't be removed fully, check in this folder: C:\Program Files\Program Name

Delete that Program Name folder AFTER uninstalling the program.

3. Empty your Recycle Bin.

4. Music and pictures all burn to a CD or DVD.

another qn: how come sometimes my com takes damn long to shutdown? even my friends with laptops and vista say it takes an insanely long time to shutdown, so they hibernate instead….

if u can afford Ram space for running programs, i suggest u disable paging file.

however, some simple steps to follow too.

0. free up to 20% space as suggested
1. analyze your hard disk using disk degragmenter (dfrg.msc)
2. if the files are damn fragmented, disable paging file ram.
3. restart computer and defrag your computer(to make sure that all fragmented files are joint together easily.
4. enable paging file ram and restart your computer.

maintanence : do a defrag( w/o enable or disable paging file) once a week+/- u have a haveay usage of hdd.

do the steps above it if lags u again

when u shut down, programs will terminate safely and settings will save in your hdd. so sometimes is due to lots of settings to save in your hdd. or some program is taking a long time to terminate.
