Power Torq SG hey mage! Beng shoe dun sell to me lah!Wakao! Still offer to me... You tink i beng meh? hahaha
harmzuay SG Mage the shiny black sides and silver toes SST5Actually, I am interested in replacing my right shoe. I wear dexter size 7s, i think. So i'm not sure if I can fit into your shoes. Do you have a price? I'll have to buy the pair, of course.
chee35 SG airgrinder, the one coach u talking abt who doesn't like the changeable little circles on linds is the same one coach i know too rite? well if not for the fact that my linds is quite new + i'm broke + dexter shoes aren't too pretty, i'd most probably get a pair of dexters....so i guess i wld say dexters shld be better...
airgrinder SG ya lah ya lah, the coach which i said that doesnt like the changeable circles on linds is our coach.
airgrinder SG ya lah ya lah, the coach which i said that doesnt like the changeable circles on linds is our coach. and I think he is hinting me to get a the SST6s
harmzuay SG Don't worry about which shoe is the best. Pay attention to what is the best for you. If Linds feel good for you, fine. If the shoe that works best for you isn't top-of-the-line, who cares? To paraphrase a friend, "If you average 200+, who's going to tell you what to do?"
Sp|N SG To add my puny worth of the difference between a dollar and eighty-eight cents. Anyone hear of "Master" shoes? I have been wearing a pair of bowling shoes which came with the "newbie" package since 1997. The tip of my "sliding" shoe has chewed off by the lanes already. It's a 6 years relationship. Never knew it would be so long. It has been my battle-mate for countless bowling trips. Opps , out of point. Right. I believe shoes does matter but it's up to erm...the individual. For me, I don't have the money or skills befitting to a nice pair of shoes to buy the Dexter range. In reference to the topic. No...I will not play with house shoes...or a house ball. What am I getting at? I don't know. I'll just stick with my "Master" for the time being.
harmzuay SG Spin Perhaps you can get Mage's shoes used. He's offering them for sale, and you can use them.
Power Torq SG Yup, I won't bowl with house balls or house shoes.....i would rather spend more effort to carry more barang barang down for a better performance! No effort, no gain! Cheers!
Quantum SG I bought my linds xxxtra because my feet is too broad and Dexter sst4 and sst5 doesn't fit. Harmzuay need your advice. i am thinking of getting sst6 becoz i prefer the right side of dexter as it give better grip on the lane for us to do the powerslide as Prataman tought me how to do it. What do you think?
prataman SG Huh? Did I ever do that? You don't mean the discussion we were having during the pre-orientation bowl at Cineleisure Orchard, do you? Which reminds me, the next time I see you, I gotta get some "high backswing" advice. Tried it in practice just now, waahahahah... hit a 169 and then a 124? Something like that... something to invest in for the future Hmm in line with the thread now, I'm using a Dexter SST6, having "upgraded" from a Linds Classic. I did it because I have very wide feet as opposed to long, and I felt that it gives me better balance. However, I must say I bought it mainly for the width, and all the heel/sole combo thingys give me a little headache. (for now)
harmzuay SG Quantum The SST6 is broader in construction at the forward area of the feet, which is where people with flat feet or similar have the problem. I have this problem too. For me, it's so bad that I cannot wear Nike track shoes because they are too 'narrow'. I'll think it's a good investment of money, better than balls anytime, since one almost never cycles through shoes like they do balls. If you have the moolah, go for it. They have a new design for the SST6 - I saw it on yesterday at Walters. But I still prefer the older one.
chuanish SG I feel that the SST 5 series is still the most desirable. Like how the last generation Integra is better than the current one. Like how the Man Utd squad of last season is better than this season’s. Like how cartoons back in our time are far cooler than today’s Pokemon crap. Like how the music from the 80s and early 90s are purer than the commercialised pop we have right now.
Quantum SG Prataman: Yup its the discussion that we have at Orchard Cineleisure Is the SST6 provide better grip for the right leg before the slide? coz my linds doesnt provide me with the grip before the slide as for the high backswing, i dun do it on purpose. Guess i just bend lower and that make my swing higher......
prataman SG Hey dude, The SST6 is just a wider base. I'm not sure if your problem with the right leg lies with the Strength of the Grip, in which this case the SST6 may not help you because, well, we can't really change the soles of our right shoe. However, the SST6 has more surface of the sole contacting the lane (of course, it has a wider base), so this may help you improve grip. I suppose it boils down to whether you don't FEEL enough of the lane with your foot or the material of your shoe does not provide enough grip. As for your swing... hey, that didn't help!!! Wonder if you assist in pulling it up at any stage?
harmzuay SG Prata I think he does. I do too. I do not think anyone can get a backswing so high with 100% gravity. Unless they pushed down on their ball at the start of the backswing with the other hand, such as some old PBA bowler did. Forgot his name... but can find out easily.
prataman SG Hmm, I suppose my next obvious question would be "at which point do you pull your arm, so as to help pull the swing up?"
Quantum SG Harmzuay: Maybe u r right about pulling up the ball but i dun seem to feel it i think the right sole of Dexter gives better grip coz i read the material is made of goodwill tyres. but then again it might be a marketing gimicks......hee!
