While it's true that Lenovo has bought the PC/laptop department
of IBM, there are still differences between them.
Lenovo laptops with the IBM logo specs are poor when compared with
other brands. Prices wise, it's a tad higher. Warranty is also
longer. Typically 3 years, but could be extended to 5 years.
And they last, although somewhat heavy and ugly.
It's also heavier and as for now, is still selling XP
machines.
The series also start with T, X or R.
Those without the IBM logo, has specs that are comparable with the
other brands out there, warranty is 1 year (could be extended to 3
years if I'm not wrong), produced by Lenovo. The prices are also
lower ($1000 odd for the average ones to low end ones, a few
thousand for the higher end ones). They are usually Vista Home
Premium or Vista Home Basic.
They also look nicer and lighter.
If you've been to the last PC Show, you will wonder why the prices
have dropped drastically. That's because the IBM logo and promise
for quality is no longer there.
The series start with Y or N (can't really recall).
