Singnet and MaxOnline: ADSL and Cable

Hi...

Is it true, cable technology such as MaxOnline, will experience performance drop during busy hours, while ADSL such as Singnet, have dedicated broadband line because it uses the telephone line?

In other words, does Singnet have more consistent speed compared with MaxOnline? Anyone has experience on this?

I am a ex singnet customer and now jump boat to maxonline.. my opinion is.. singnet speed more consistant.. but quite alot of disconnections.. sometimes due to maintenance.. sometimes for no reasons.. as for maxonline, speed nt tat consistant... sometimes speed can vary from 4000+ , sometimes 12,000+.. i am using the ultimate plan.. but no disconnections so far... yea... up to u la... Very Happy

you will not suffer from disconnection if you are using cable, but if you want to have a good download speed, singtel is better, but you will suffer from disconnection and it is bad if you are mmorpger

i sort of screw singnet 3times over a period of 3months, every visit change modem, the last visit was finally successful in solving my dc problem.. now i'm a happy customer Surprised

Argh. I always thought it is easier to DC on cable than on ADSL. Anyway, OT, is the StarHub's CableTV + free 1 mbps BB connection the cheapest BB plan now?

I am a maxonline user since 2001 haha. Not much problem for me. Sometimes it lags a bit. Seems to be slower than singnet when linking to certain overseas website.

I can clock 700kb/s downloading naruto using maxonline 6000.

But i am going to stop subscribing once i graduate. Nothing beats wireless on the go.

we were both using singnet adsl..

i just picked up the last equip when we both got dced

happened a few times already...

nw i use starhub... the only time i got dc-ed.. was bcos my router sot liao...
