I remember that Russell Lee books were banned by my principal back when I was in primary school.

The logic went that it was a 'poor influence' on children.

Mr Kiasu is being forgotten, many of the younger generation does not even know what it is.

As for TSGS, it will become a classic taught in school only if studying of supernatural is added as a core subject in schools.

It is considered by some to be a "poor influence", as it spreads about messages about the existance and scariness of the supernatural which these people do not believe in.

In short, they believe the whole book to be crap.
