from desktop, right click properties -> screensaver -> power ->

right click on ur desktop to see display properties. go to screen saver. go to power. change to watever setting u want for hw long idle then off monitor.

erm, yeah I set it to switch off after 1 minute..

i was thinking whether theres some function Fn key to switch it off but in the same power profile?

Set the screensaver to None after 1 minute, or change the power savings preferences to turn off the monitor power after 1 minute.

for me usually if have to leave the notebook running i will push down the LCD lid until the notebook display backlight off. The display settings at control panel have all the modes in “power management” tab for you to play with on power save settings. try it.
