ndmmxiaomayi SG It's as reliable as its warranty. Warranty says one year, you can prepare to visit Acer in one year's time. That's for about 30% of its notebooks. Heng or suay is your fate.
ChingAlvin SG I've been using Acer for 1 year plus already. Nvr give me problem.. Except for the fact that, my "P" button dropped out on 17th April 2006... RP students shld find the date familiar....
ndmmxiaomayi SG IBM, now Lenovo. HP is another reliable one. Asus, Sony and Fujitsu as well. Currently, LG and Samsung are still in testing, I would still say they work quite well if you want a fancy-looking laptop. Edit: typo
Agenda SG don't know kinda regretted, should have gotten asus or fujitsu the headset they gave me, its VoIP is spoiled even before i used it and the speakers very soft..
kenn3th SG for the price of a high end acer, i would rather get a fuji at that price, hmm or maybe a asus
xxlolxx SG btw any body know about the brand NEC. i saw the thread on service centre, didnt see it there. this trhead. no 1 mentioned abt NEC too. its quite a gd brand too. its no.1 in japan n comes with onsite warranty, its design is unique and quality not bad too.
technoboy SG I'm using Acer too. Besides some minor problem like mic too soft, VOIP phone spoil, webcam got some problem starting up, and the CD drive always eject all of a sudden when there is no disc, I guess it's good! Mine has been working for 1.5 years now.
