Question about recycle bin and deleting items on PC

I had a bunch of pictures I deleted about a year ago on my PC, I wanted to recover them again however my recycle bin doesn’t have anything even close to around that date. What i’m wondering is, if I delete a picture in my documents on my PC is it p permanently erased for good? I always hear how nothing you delete is ever gone forever and that there are ways to recover everything again but i’m just wondering what the truth is, thank you.

you can retrieve the file if the space on the hard disk which once stored the pictures you mentioned is not overwritten by other new files.

but you need to fish out using softwares.

basically computer writes data onto the hard disk. how the system retrieves files from the hard disk is through a 'directory' of the hard disk. when you delete a file, the system doesn't really delete the file. only the entry in the 'directory' is being removed. thats why you have a greater chance of getting it back if the file deletion is recent.

Hmmm, i dont think you can recover your pics or other files anymore…. If you use the computer like an average user does(1~2hr a day), then your comp would most likely have overwritten it already. If your HD is abt 70% full from then to now, same as above. Luck, is the keyword when recovering data from anything more than 6mths old.

try and get a copy of Norton Unerase on CD, and just run it off the disc. Laughing

i use undelete plus to recover deleted files…..freeware and it’s good…
