i’ve got the sz43. yeah its true that sony vaio comes with a greater price. no doubt the looks are great, i would recommend buying it if you arent running any heav applications, just light ones such as messenger, microsoft office and/ IE. the battery life for sz series is comparatively better, lasting about 5hours minimum on stamina mode, and its light too, at about 1.8kg

if u buy right. there are a few pointers to take note.

first: make sure that it's not made in china, there are 2 sets of vaio machines, the more expensive ones and 14.1 inches or below are made in Japan but it's more costly and the china sets 14.1 and above, normally 15.4 inches are normally CHEAPER by alot, but the QC may not be that good.

This is based on the personal review of mine, as i have a made in china vaio

The Metro Notebook, a collaborative effort from Intel and Ziba Design, is being touted as the worlds thinnest notebook. Measuring just 0.7" (1.8cm) thick and weighing only 2.25 pounds (1.1kg), it's just a tad more cumbersome than the Motorola RAZR. This notebook features a number of wireless technologies -- such as Wi-Fi, WiMax and cellular network chips -- to keep you connected to the web 24/7.

available end 2007

p.s. that brown circle on the right? that's the american penny or 1cent coin for reference Smile

I'm currently using sz43.
It's all good however,minor issue.
Touchpad seem faulty,i can't move the cursor at times using the touchpad.

boka SG

i doubt u have the Sz43
1.8kg,min 5 hrs on stam mode...ur reading everything off the specs table.

Although the official manual says it runs on 6 hrs while on stamina mode,it is nothing of that sort.
mine only run on 2.44hrs on staimna mode and at max battery

If u want zhai lappy but dont hava a thight budget u might as well go to alienware.com and customize a laptop.

On the other hand i think why most people prefer Sony/Fujitsu over acer is due to where the parts of the lappy is made/ assembled. Acer = malaysia, Sony/ Fujutsu = Japan.
