Saving in Thumbdrive

TehJarVu SG

Just now I tried to copy a folder from my hdd to my thumbdrive

after 'copy this folder'
i found the folder in the thumbdrive
but when i opened it
it was empty

i tried a few times
still the same

in the end i had to open each file individually in the folder in my hdd
and save them one by one to the folder in the thumbdrive

why couldn't I copy the folder one shot as a whole???

edit: i tried to copy the folder

ur thumb drive did it had enough space for all the files?

TehJarVu SG

have
it is 2 gb
used space is 1gb
still got 1 gb free space left

then the most probable thing is the folder permission…otherwise i oso not sure le..

I don’t think any OS ever allows you to save a folder. They only allow you to copy/cut and paste a folder.

TehJarVu SG

yah lah, i mean copy the folder from hdd to thumbdrive
but couldn't do it

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Orh, I thought you went to save the whole folder. -_-

Might be some permissions issue as R3SsH|n suggested.

u can go in, press Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C, then paste inside the folder of the thumbdrive. Laughing

Hmm... Did you only copy the folder name??? Laughing

Anyway, you just drag and drop will do... Never experience any problem doing so in the past...

.............. Surprised

TehJarVu SG

but i open by going to 'my computer'
then click on D drive
found the folder

and the whole page is stuff on my D drive

i cannot drag it to F drive, it's not on the same page

have to click copy

then open F drive to the destination...

then click 'copy folder'

but it doesn't work...

so how exactly do i drag and drop? Neutral

R3SsH|n SG

you open my computer 2 times...one for the D drive the other the F drive.
drag from the D drive folder to the F drive.

just left click and hold and drag to F.
