Ad hoc between a computer and a laptop?

hello there, i have a desktop computer which is connected to a router. then i have another laptop which uses the connect from the router through its Wi-FI. is there anyway i can transfer my files from the laptop to the desktop computer using just the laptop’s wi-fi and the desktop which is connected to my router for internet connections.

Start > Run. Type in the IP address of either the laptop or computer.

Say the laptop is assigned an IP address of 192.168.1.22

In the Run command, type in \\192.168.1.22

Make sure you set to share the folders first...

how to know the ip of my laptop then?

Click on the connection (near the clock)

Select the Support tab

It will say IP Address: X.X.X.X, where X are numbers
