Urgent- need program to control burning speed

I gave up. I can longer get back the recording tab in dvd rw drive properties. I tried all methods in google, including uninstalling the IDE channels, and changing registry drive type, and enabling imap service.

Now I need a program, don't mean a burning software, that can simply allow me to select speed for dvd drive. Is there such a program?

I don't thing such a program exist. No one is expertised enough to edit registry for recording tab.
Screw it. I am now using registry to control the speed instead.

I assume that you can use the DVD drive without problems, meaning it can play your DVDs/CDs.

I already wrote that I have edited the registry, I tried that link years ago.

You say you tried. Did you read the bottom? It says to check with Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)

I solved it, I am using Ashampoo, quite an excellent software, trying it now, best of all it is able to allow different cd burn speed. SO you can forget about all those stupid uncompatible burn/read nonsense.

Anyway there is this problem with Hardware I guess for example you label your mp3 tracks in:

2
3
.
.
20

If you use Nero it actually jumbles up the order to:

10
1
11
12
.
.
19
2
.

And the CD player actually plays the wrong order. Well this really sucks. The only program I know that dosen't arrange them this way is RecordNow. And recordnow is one of the worst software on the market.

Finally able to burn properly with Ashampoo.

Even if you don't use Nero most other programs may still jumble up the order. You have to understand how a basic computer reads and aranges data by default. With your naming convention of course you will get confused!

Try putting zeroes in front of your tracks. The number of zeroes equals to the total number of tracks you going to burn. In this way the track queue will never go wrong.

Like this:-

01
02
03
.
.
.
09
10
11
12
.
.
19
20
....and so on.

If you have 100 tracks to burn, use three digits and put 2 zeroes in front. e.g:-

001
002
.
.
100
101
...and so on
