Since crackers and MS are having wars , MS may just gif a free license if you support them , Impossible ^_^

Reinstall Windows is the best solution btw I also got a question regarding my ancient computer Razz [Lazy to post , maybe tomorrow ^_^ ]

Looks like everything is good.

Start > Run and type in msinfo32

On the left hand side, click on the + sign to expand Hardware Resources.

Under Hardware Resources, click on Conflicts/Sharing.

Wait for the system to refresh, then post back the devices that are sharing the same IRQ.

Quite a lot of devices are using IRQ11.

Disable the 1394 device if you are not using it.

I used the recovery CD.

I started uninstalling some non-essential programs. And restarted a few times after each batch of uninstallation.

I noticed that later on when I plugged my IMATION USB thumbdrive into the PC, BSODs started to appear..

As said, your PC has lots of devices sharing IRQ 11. Normally, it doesn't cause problems as long as the other device is not in use.

The problem started because there are devices using IRQ 11, and you plugged in the USB thumbdrive, causing the BSODs.

Ok.. I got it. But I can’t understand why the problem only cropped up now though. Been using this laptop for 2 years. I’m not sure how to reassign IRQs manually, my BIOS doesn’t have the settings that allow me to do that..

Not too sure if it’s really the IRQ that has problems. Try plugging in other USB devices. If other devices also cause a BSOD… you might want to bring it to Toshiba and ask for help re-assigning them.
