what is the time you think we should change computer?

e.g bought computer in 2004, then when should we buy a new one(how many years, etc..)??

my old one died with a HDD failure and major overheating problems... so i got an iMac..

big time change from windoze-based to the wonderful OSX Very Happy

i always "time" myself, for example, my current desktop is abt 4 to 5 years liao. i gave a timeline of abt 4 years, n i changed the HDD recently coz the old one broke down.

depends la, if ur com is beyond reasonable repairs or the repair cost is higher n den a new com, or it is way too slow for ur present use, den it is time to change~

at the rate we are using (abusing) PCs and oso having new technologies coming out so fast, a PC shd be good for about 3-4yrs......
along the way u can change some parts or upgrade.....

cause i sense my pc is v. slowly these days...then starts to lag liaoz...

worst is disk space v. little..ccannot store much(40gb...quite big..but oso quite little)

i almost used up all my internal 60 gb hard disk and then my 40 gb external hard disk is full

anime series is using up all my disk space

i’m gonna build one soon with 1TB of HDD space so that i can store all my albums in it. So lazy to keep insering it into the hard drive. I’m also getting ready for GTA IV.

I have a Acer that my dad bought in 2000. Still in use.

Runs Win98SE

Pentium 3 800Mhz
20GB harddisk
256mb + 64 mb RAM

It works very very well. Does not lag at all for serving net, watch dvd, or even autocad.

Change com according to year isn't always the best choice.

Of course now surviving on workstation notebook and macbook.

Gonna ask my dad get new com either at pc show or end of year, yar must get ready for GTA IV
