hloc SG Sh*t...... just brought a A-Data 1GB ram for my PC this afternoon. Planned to install and make my PC run 2GB 1066Mhz at dual Channel...... but the new Ram I brought must be damage...... The moment I add it into the CORRECT coloured Ram slot, my PC can't start up..... remove it, the PC start normal. At 1st, thought that maybe some spec problem and can't run it in dual channel..... so try and run it at normal single channel. Same problem..... PC can't start Remove my old 1GB Ram and install just the new ram into my system...... my PC failed to bootup again..... damn Reinstall old 1GB Ram...... PC bootup without problem..... Luckily the shop agree to exchange the ram tomorr. But like to know..... How many of u here have ever brought 'Bad' Ram before. Not commonly do i hear got such problem.....
XTransbus SG bought one before at a very low price. I try but cannot use so i left it inside my drawer for 1mth. Then i install back then can use
orionlight SG seems like you are really unlucky did you check your motherboard RAM QVL list before buying it, cause some chips may not work on the motherboard..Incidentally, you are ramping up the FSB in order to make the RAM run at 1066MHz?
hloc SG No lah..... new Gigabyte M/B. Supoort 1066Mhz. I already got the same ram inside my PC. Just adding to make it dual channel 2GB. Plan for Vista when it is more stable. But can't even use the new Ram as stand alone. Going back to sim lim this afternoon to have it exchange. Hope the bloody shop don't give me excuse after excuse
